CLUB BULLETIN BOARD - (Taken off line July 26, 2000)

Soft Talk II

***Off Line (540) 562-1827 Off Line***

2400/9600/14.4/33.6 (8 bits, 1 parity, no stops)

The BBS was for membership use, but guests could sign on and look around with limited access. Club members had 24 hour daily access, with a limit of 90 minutes per day. Unused daily minutes (up to 90) could have been saved in the time bank for future withdrawal in order to download large files. The BBS supported multiple file transfer protocols with ZMODEM being the most commonly used. Conference areas for computer related subjects and e-mail among members were some of the many reasons to sign on regularly.

The BBS ran a US Robotics  33.6  Modem, utilizing PCBoard ® software.
The  hard drive storage capacity was 2.5 Gig's and 1 CD ROM online.

The internet took all the callers away.

The SoftTalk II was retired July 26, 2000.
