The count is in and the membership voted to remain at Arnold R. Burton. A show of hands was taken at the October 13, 2001 meeting. The email votes sent in were also counted. This process gave every member the opportunity to cast their vote.
We have evaluated the Carilion site. There will be a vote held at the October meeting at Arnold R. Burton to see if we should make the move to Carilion permanent.
You will be able to cast your vote by sending email or by attending the October meeting. Be sure to include your name and member number if voting by email.
We are evaluating a new meeting site to help ease the sometimes crowded conditions at our current location.
There will be a reminder posted at Arnold R. Burton letting any people that drop by know where we are meeting.
Please attend the next two meetings! This is an important
issue!
We want you to be informed and have the opportunity to vote on the future
direction of our club.
Thanks...

The BBS was for membership use, but guests could sign on and look around with limited access. Club members had 24 hour daily access, with a limit of 90 minutes per day. Unused daily minutes (up to 90) could have been saved in the time bank for future withdrawal in order to download large files. The BBS supported multiple file transfer protocols with ZMODEM being the most commonly used. Conference areas for computer related subjects and e-mail among members were some of the many reasons to sign on regularly.
The BBS ran a US Robotics 33.6
Modem, utilizing PCBoard ® software.
The hard drive storage capacity was 2.5 Gig's and 1 CD ROM online.
